Our Story

Growing up, my grandmother would tell me stories during late-night fishing trips along the lakes of Texas. As the water settled into silence and the warm night air filled with the hum of summer, tiny lights would flicker along the shoreline. Most people called them fireflies, but my grandmother would smile and say they were little fairies known as Fire Sprites—dancing above the water and guiding people home.

That story stayed with me.

For Nigel, owning a pub had been a childhood dream. He always imagined creating a place where people from all walks of life could come together over great food, good drinks, and warm hospitality—a true community gathering place. Years later, standing above the beautiful Windrush River Valley at the edge of the Cotswolds, we both felt a sense of possibility. It was there that the idea for The Fire Sprite Pub & Grill was born.

The Fire Sprite brings together two worlds that are close to our hearts: the timeless charm and hospitality of a traditional Cotswold pub and the bold, fire-cooked flavors of Texas. Here, slow-smoked meats, hearty pub classics, and flame-grilled favorites are served in a welcoming setting where families, friends, walkers, and locals can gather together.

Much like the Fire Sprites from my grandmother's tales, we believe the best places possess a little magic. The kind of places that draw people in with warmth, light, and the promise of good company.
